Silpo

Silpo, one of Ukraine’s most recognisable grocery chains and the flagship brand of Fozzy Group, consistently develops experience retail: instead of typical supermarkets, it creates designer spaces with unique themes, gastronomic zones and in-store event concepts.

The network includes over 300 supermarkets and Le Silpo delicatessen stores, with more than 100 unique design projects. In 2025, three Silpo stores were listed among Europe’s Finest Stores by European Supermarket Magazine, underscoring the brand’s international recognition for innovation in retail design.

Informationen zum Projekt

This project was executed as part of a complete redevelopment of an outdated supermarket premises. The interior design is based on a labyrinth aesthetic, featuring coloured route lines on the floor and decorative ceiling elements styled as till receipts. The project required the integration of professional lighting into a complex spatial geometry and the development of external facade illumination within a densely populated residential area.

Tasks

Full replacement of the legacy lighting system with modern LED solutions for the renovated format.
Development of multiple lighting design versions with 7 iterations of adjustments to meet client requirements.
Organisation of accent lighting for retail zones to highlight the specific ceiling design and floor routes.
Design of facade illumination with strict constraints on glare to avoid disturbing residents on upper floors.

Completed work

A three-month design cycle involving 7 revision stages to achieve the optimal lighting performance.
Production and delivery of a comprehensive luminaire system, including Rony, Komo, Mio, FastLine 3PH, and Rock models, within 30 days.
Calculation and installation of external lighting fixtures equipped with specialised optics to cut off light spill from residential windows.
Precise aiming of track systems to visually define the “route lines” and decorative ceiling features.
